Gallery 8 is a satellite space inside of 80 Washington Sq. East Gallery. Proposals are now being accepted from all BFA students, first and second year MA Art Steinhardt students, and first year MFA students. This is a great opportunity to have a solo show while still in school in a traditional gallery setting. The shows will be in conjunction with shows by well-established artists.
Gallery 8 is a room, measuring 15 feet long by 5 feet wide, that was recently designated as a space in which students would have an opportunity different from the Barney Building venues to show their work. This space is for solo shows only (with few exceptions for collaborations).
The space is mostly conducive to site-specific installations. Your proposal submission must include three to five digital photographs of relevant work, several sketches illustrating your idea and a 300 hundred-word statement about your work.
Proposals for the next show, opening on the 17th of November, must be recieved by October 31, 2009. Proposals for later shows will be accepted on a rolling basis. Please send all submissions to Galleryate@gmail.com.
If you would like to see the space, the gallery is open 10 am – 6 pm, Mondays-Saturdays.

Sincerely, The Star Chamber
